Nice one, Pauly. I hope you enjoyed your ride out and that you're happy with your purchases.

I've had two Mercuries in the past & never realised until recently that BSA have their own odd rail size.

Had a horribly hectic day today in baking heat, every time I look up there is a calendar right in front of me, and I'm thinking "two weeks today & I'll be there, away from all this".
Yep, and "back in the day" we had fun & games getting to grips (sic!) with the very shallow nature of BSA dovetails. Quality mounts were a Godsend when they arrived.

I used to have horrible, torrid days all the time in my old job and the Bashes were such a helpful and much needed punctuation to keep mind, body and soul together. The problem also was that you had a great time at The Bash but knew you had it all to go back to, and any time off also came with the penalty of even more grief catching up once back. The new job's nothing like that. Nothing carries over. So there will be no catch up on going back in on the Monday. So much less stress and working with nice people is a huge bonus.

    I am so very lucky.

What a lovely gesture, Gav. Nothing needed for now though, thank you.

Well, the mounts arrived yesterday so after work and before tea I got the Hawke on the 97 and managed to squeeze in a preliminary short-range zeroing-in sesh. At just over ten yards it's 18mm below point of aim currently. Maybe, maybe just a tad to the right. Need to get it out at longer range now to refine the zero (I usually set up .177s at 35 yards). Wonder if I might be able to squeeze in a visit to Brian Samson's range before The Bash?

I'll have a word with some of the lads who pop into our local on a Sunday afternoon. They carry their power tools in bin liners and must be sick of doing so as they're always trying to sell them for a tenner...

By "lads" I think you mean "scrotes".
